I decided to redo the old Delfonics classic. What a treat to have my old friend Joy Francis who is currently the lead vocalist for the Miami Sound Machine.  Also on this track was Tavares - the 70's disco group who's music is featured prominently in the soundtrack from Saturday Night Fever. A big heartfelt thanks to all of them :-)

Tito Puente Live at the Monterey Jazz Festival - 1977

This concert was the only one of it's kind at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 1977. Never before or since has an authentic Latin Jazz "Salsa" band performed at the festival. It was 35 years later that I learned that the concert was recorded. The original tapes were picked up and released by Concord Records in 2011.  I was the featured flute player.

This was the first song I wrote for this CD dedicated to my lovely wife. Her name is Sandy.

The idea of recording this CD came "out of the blue"......kind of like a bolt of lightning - hence the title track. This is a blues shuffle with a little help from Sal Oristano on guitar. He was one of the finest R&B guitarists ever to grace our planet. I miss him dearly.

Tito Puente

I played with Tito Puente from 1975-1979. We recorded this tune sometime in 1977. I was the featured saxophone soloist. What a blast!
