The "season" in Florida is over.......the snowbirds have gone back to their other destinations and the air is quiet......it gives us a chance to catch our breath.....to relax a little from a very hectic winter in Florida. It's time to catch up on some housework, play a little golf, and go for walks on the beach with my bride. I'm not going to retire anytime soon.......it's just too much fun playing music, playing golf, and going to the beach.......OUT!

I don't blog very much.....I suppose it's something that I should consider more often. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in May 2017 with a degree in Professional Music. It has been an incredible sense of accomplishment in that it took 43 years to finally get that "piece of paper." The ceremony in Boston was so magical as I was accompanied by my wife and daughter.....they watched me receive my degree and as I walked across the stage I was able to meet both Todd Rundgren and Lionel Ritchie as they also received honorary doctorate degrees......something that I will long remember.

In September of 2015, I decided to return to Berklee College of Music after having left there in June, 1973. I was an Ed. major and due to an unfortunate set of circumstances at the time, I was forced to leave. Although I've had a wonderful career in the music business, the one missing piece - a bachelors degree - always remained on my bucket list. Until now......I've completed all of my academic requirements online and I am scheduled to graduate on May 13, 2017. The only thing that remains is my Final Project. I will be writing the second edition of my teaching methodology titled Improvisation 101: How Music Works. For all of my students past, present, and future.....keep checking - it will be available soon!
